Hello Mr. Silent. I’m experiencing an issue in the pool mini-game where sometimes my CJ is unable to take a shot, even though all other controls function normally. This occurs consistently at the start of a new game.
Environment:
Game: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC)
SilentPatch: Installed (latest version)
Frame limiter: Enabled (FPS capped to 30 when playing pool)
Additional mods: Includes common fixes such as Proper Fixes / Essentials Pack (no unusual gameplay-altering mods)
Steps to Reproduce:
Start a pool game (e.g., at a bar location)
Begin a new match
Attempt to take a shot using the assigned shoot/fire button
Observed Behavior:
Cue movement, aiming, and camera switching all work correctly
My CJ can exit/quit the mini-game normally
Pressing the shoot button does nothing (no animation, no input response)
The game does not freeze or crash
Expected Behavior:
Pressing the shoot/fire button should trigger the cue strike and take the shot.
Troubleshooting Performed:
Remapped shoot/fire input to different keys → no change
Verified input works correctly outside the mini-game
Frame limiter enabled to maintain ~30 FPS - Disabling the frame limiter and playing at 120 FPS doesn't help either
Issue persists across multiple attempts and matches
Additional Notes:
This does not appear to be a general input issue, but rather something specific to how the shoot action is handled in the pool mini-game. Since other inputs are recognized, it may be related to input state handling or script timing.
Request:
Could you please advise if this is a known issue or if SilentPatch addresses (or plans to address) this behavior? I’d also be happy to provide additional details or test potential fixes if needed. Apologies if this has already been reported or covered elsewhere; I may have overlooked existing information.
Thank you for your continued work on SilentPatch.
