E4 Streaming Server v1.0.3 not sending data

When running the PyEmpatica example code, we have consistently run into an issue wherein the "E4 is not on wrist, please put it on!" message is repeatedly printed.

We have checked this with multiple E4 devices and have verified that data can be streamed from those devices using the E4 realtime app. Each time, even though the E4 device works via the E4 realtime app, and can be connected to the E4 streaming server on the PC, the "E4 is not on wrist" error message is always displayed.

This state may be caused by an error with the pyEmpatica library, but could also be caused by a problem with the current release of the E4 streaming server.

Thanks for reaching out! Have you verified that data is reaching the pyEmpatica library? The Streaming Server can fail to properly connect and data will not stream. If the pyEmpatica library is not detecting the wrist, then either your EDA sensor is broken or the Streaming Server is not sending data.

I am facing the same problem as @gjolde mentioned.
I am afraid that E4 Streaming Server is not sending data as I have tried various versions of client scripts in different languages.

I have encountered the same problem with the Streaming Server. Whenever this happened to me, the connected Empatica didn't have the green icon next to it, IIRC. Also, this library was developed with 1.0.2 of the Streaming Server. I didn't realize that a new version was released. I'll do some testing and get back to everyone.

It looks like the current version of the Streaming Server is the culprit for this. A workaround was tested that does work with this library, shared by @kopetri.

A workaround is to run the installer again and start the server using the "Launch E4 streaming server" check mark of the installer dialog.

I got the Empatica BLE server to display data without reinstalling on Windows by using one of two fixes:

1. Run the Empatica BLE server as an administrator.
2. Install the Empatica BLE server somewhere outside the Program Files folder so it doesn't need administrator privileges

What I believe is happening is that the new version requires admin privileges to write to its install location in Program Files.
The other fix seems to work because reinstalling it and running it from the installer allows it to run as an administrator.
