Using '-c' produces weird effect

I have fonts-noto-cjk installed on Ubuntu 25.10. Obviously I'm missing some.

@vaskark had literally the same thing happening plus some segfault goodness when it reached the bottom.

linked lncursesw library, one col per char. made font part of install to proper ubuntu directories with font cache refresh. migrated from string-based addwstr/addnwstr to per-cell add_wch + setcchar.

there was a solid thread either here or on another gh project with two dudes who really knew their shit about how terminal draws/renders half/single/double width characters. basically took that and ran with it.

i want to tweak some of the other options and then i'll probably just upload my fork and you guys can check it out if you want.

although i did strip anything that wasn't linux related. #sorrynotsorry

I'm having this weird in between columns of ocasional black background:

Those odd columns never show characters. The blackness only happens with -c, but the gap columns are always there. Also @shr00mie, what is the option to make those messages look nice? For me -M looks nothing like that:

@emiliopedrollo dude. i'm so far down the rabbit hole. at this point i think i've changed about...45% of the source.

when i check out -M, i was like...why. why you make border. not that mine's amazing, but it feels like it's more in line with the overall digital rain.

should have some time this weekend to knock out a couple more things i want to implement, then verify the font shenanigans during install, and push a public fork.

@vaskark wouldn't be surprised if that's not in your respective repository. probably gotta compile from source to play with that. give it a couple days. i'll really try to push something this weekend.

@shr00mie Thanks. The released version was so old and the last commit was a while ago too. I have it now. But "-c" isn't using Japanese fonts. Do you know which specific font package I need?
