Hi Efrain,
I’m reaching out to say thank you — MKVBatchMultiplex has been one of the most helpful tools in my workflow for remuxing MKV files.
I was using the latest release on my Mac through running Win11 as a VM with Parallels since macOS support stopped after 2.0.0. I still really wanted to use the newer version natively to best utilize my hardware so I ended up reviving macOS compatibility on my own. I fixed a few PySide6/macOS issues, restored functionality on both Intel and Apple Silicon, and built a Universal2 .app + .dmg version for my personal use.
The changes included:
• macOS dark mode text fixes
• A QScreen compatibility patch for Apple Silicon
• A translation fallback to prevent startup crashes
• Updated PyInstaller spec for macOS
• A complete .app bundle and .dmg installer
The modifications were kept isolated and do not alter Windows functionality.
I forked your build to share what I achieved with others who may also want to run it on MacOS natively. I just wanted to share that with you, and to say that I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into MKVBatchMultiplex over the years. It’s a great piece of software.
Thank you again,
Michele
