Current Plasma options

Hi there,
I needed a bit of help figuring out what those new profiles are about.
Like it is pretty self explanatory that plasma-desktop is a very barebone plasma install, I do not really get the difference between plasma-meta and plasma group.
Now I know that on technical standpoint a group and a meta package are not the same, but in archinstall case it selects every group packages anyway.
My question is more about the rationale, like is one the KDE official one and the other the extended version ?

All of these are officially referenced in the Arch wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/KDE#Plasma as installation options and will result in a DE whereas some features are working out of the box or others may require additional packages (e.g. plasma-desktop will ship the bare minimum).

There is no right or wrong here, it's more about what you want to have installed, this is the official guide from KDE what to install https://community.kde.org/Distributions/Packaging_Recommendations which points to the recommended list https://download.kde.org/stable/plasma/6.6.4/.

With a bit more research I found that the plasma group is more like a compilation of everything plasma. Like including kwin-x11 that will be not supported in the long run. So having meta as the default is the good call, it offers an OOTB install
