Cannot sign in on Windows 11 due to Codex config error

Hey, I am trying to run Get It on Windows 11, but the app is not letting me sign in.

When I open the app, it goes to the "Almost there" screen. It asks me to sign in with ChatGPT/OpenAI, but then it shows this error:

Error loading configuration: C:\Users\imsov\.codex\config.toml:3:16:
unknown variant `default`, expected `fast` or `flex`

Because of this I can't continue, and the sign in flow is not opening properly for me.

I think the issue is coming from the Codex config file, maybe service_tier is set to default, but the app/Codex is expecting only fast or flex.

I know I can probably fix it manually by editing the config, but I think the app should handle this better or show a clear message for normal users. Right now it just blocks the whole setup.

Thanks for the detailed report — that error comes from your local ~/.codex/config.toml having service_tier = "default", which the bundled Codex CLI (>= 0.130.0) rejects (it only accepts fast or flex). It's not something Get It writes, so editing that one line (or removing it) unblocks the Codex sign-in.

The good news: v1.4.0 (releasing now) makes Get It multi-engine, so you're no longer forced through Codex at all — in the setup wizard you can pick Claude, Gemini, or a BYOK endpoint and skip the broken Codex config entirely. We're leaving this open to track handling a malformed Codex config more gracefully in the wizard (a clear message + continue), as you suggested.
