Maybe we should change to something more versatile or canonical. Seometimes I use cycle2 (http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle2) but I don't really have a string opinion.
I guess it is not super-important since in most use-cases people will override the templates anyway to better match the design and add the library of their choice along the way.
