PDX Unlimiter cannot detect CK2 directory on linux

Using PDX Unlimiter 3.4.0 on Linux Mint. Steam flatpak, CK2 on GEProton10-32. PDX automatically found my CK3 directory, but didn't detect CK2. Selecting the CK2 install directory results in the following message:

An error occured while loading your Crusader Kings II installation:
Crusader Kings II executable ck2 not found in directory /home/user/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II.
You can usually find the installation location of your game at locations like:

• ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II
• Any other location where you install your games
  Crusader Kings II support has been disabled. If you believe that your installation is valid,
  please check whether the installation directory was correctly set.

The installation directory is correct and contains CK2game.exe.

Side note, shouldn't there be a workaround to enable CK2 support even if it can't find the directory? Why is this even an issue?

The problem here is that pdxu currently does not support ck2 proton installs. A native linux install should work

Thank you for responding. Proton CK2 runs better on my machine. Native linux CK2 seemed to have some kind of RAM usage issue (I had a similar issue with CK3 which I've since resolved by increasing my swap memory).

Is there really no work around for an unrecognized directory? I understand utilizing the game executable for EU4, but for CK2 the base save editing utility of PDX is plenty.

If you don't need to launch it from pdxu, could you just install the native ck2 alongside the proton one and use that one in pdxu?

For pure editing, there is also a button in the top left to open the editor for a file

I'm having another issue. PDX seems to look for linux saves in /home/user/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II/ which is where proton stores them.

However, Linux Native stores them in /home/user/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.paradoxinteractive/Crusader Kings II/save games/

Not sure if I should make a new issue for this. Also not sure if this is just my machine or relation to steam being flatpak.

Yeah that is also in relation to flatpak not being supported for ck2. Does it work if you just create a symlink pointing to the right dir?
