Jonathan Dushoff is a theoretical and computational biologist in the Biology Department at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. His research focuses on the evolution and spread of infectious diseases of humans – including HIV, malaria, canine rabies and Ebola, among others.

Dushoff was born, raised and attended University in Philadelphia, USA. He served two years as a math and science teacher in Swaziland for the United States Peace Corps. His graduate training was at Cornell and Princeton Universities, in the US. He served as Research Director for the Nader 2000 presidential campaign.

Dushoff is a founding faculty member of the ICI3D program, which runs two annual disease modeling clinics for an international mix of students – one in Florida, and one in Cape Town.
