Code doesn't compile

I git-cloned and run through IDEA

gradleew build passes, but gradlew jlink fails immediately with the message "BUG! exception in phase 'semantic analysis' in source unit 'SimpleTemplateScript3.groovy' Unsupported class file major version 61"

The advices I got about it from Google didn't help
