option to use emoji for category images (similar to google maps aproach)
and maybe option to customize icon sizes?

Currently this is not possible as the model expects an image, maybe the simplest solution would be to retrieve the emoji as plain png file? Would not require a model change for me and is widely available online. What's your opinion on this?

Unless you need it, this is also the issue of distinguishable POIs 👍

could category image size be adjustable or have some size options?

Hi @EdmisP,

Sadly seeing how deep the images size are set it would require some overhaul for in my opinion not much added value?

If that's something to address I think the best option could be an option in the user settings, under Display, to set the W*H size
