Wanted change

Ability to change for nvh264enc encoder from gui as well as with environment variable

Reason for change

Hardware encoder could drastically improve container performance. Current version of selkies supports that.

x264enc is accelerated by nvenc if it is available you can see in the logs if it is using it.

Also just check your cpu usage, you will see a difference.

Edit: This is still waterfalling to images it depends on what you are running.

closing as we do support this more info here https://github.com/linuxserver/pixelflux/ try firefox chromium or one of the emulation images to test it out it will waterfall to webtop soon.

So I guess I'm doing something wrong. When I run the alpine container with firefox, blender or xfce through:

docker run --rm -it --gpus all --runtime nvidia -p 3001:3001 firefox bash`

apparently the container is still using CPU:

Res: 1920x964 Mode: H264 (CPU) CS_IN:I420 LR FF Stripes: 1 CRF:25 EncFPS: 0.00 EncStripes/s: 0.00

But when I try to run xfce or blender on ubuntu or el9 it seems like the driver cannot be loaded:

MESA: error: ZINK: failed to choose pdev
glx: failed to create drisw screen
failed to load driver: zink

Even though it throws that error I'm still able to run nvidia-smi inside the container

Is this on a VM I had another user that is using proxmox and they cannot get zink or encoding to work either.
Host information, docker, etc. nvidia driver version and method of install.

No, just regular ubuntu noble on bare metal
