Hi, I’m Lars, a software developer, AWS builder, and co-founder and CTO at Circulate.
For many years, I maintained open-source tools aimed at making serverless development on AWS faster, clearer, and less repetitive. Several of them were created during my time at Mathem and published through its open-source initiative.
Some of the better-known projects include:
- cfn-diagram, which visualises CloudFormation, SAM, and CDK stacks as interactive networks, draw.io diagrams, or ASCII art.
- evb-cli, which generates patterns and helps debug Amazon EventBridge integrations.
- sam-patterns-cli, which imports patterns from Serverless Land into SAM templates and supports related workflows.
- sfn-cli, a command-line interface for building AWS Step Functions state machine definitions.
My latest project is re:Invent Simulator, an interactive simulation designed to help people prepare for AWS re:Invent in a more playful and immersive way.
Most of my older open-source projects are now in maintenance mode. Generative AI has changed how developers solve many of the problems they were designed for, so I no longer actively invest in expanding the collection.
Sponsorships are still appreciated and help support the continued availability of these projects, their documentation, and newer experiments such as re:Invent Simulator.
