TimeScribe turns one year old today! 🥳
Exactly one year ago, version 1.0 was released — and what a journey it has been.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this project and to all of you using TimeScribe every day. ❤️

  • 📦 WinGet support (Windows)
    TimeScribe is now officially available via the Windows Package Manager (WinGet) and can be installed directly from there.

🛠 Improvements

  • 📊 Enhanced project view
    Time entries in the project view now also display their time range and notes. #95
  • ⌨️ Extended shortcut support
    Function keys (F-keys) are now supported when configuring keyboard shortcuts. #76

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fix: On macOS, no app icon was shown in the Dock when opening the main window.
    This has now been resolved. #96
  • Fix: Various minor UI issues have been addressed.

This release improves project transparency and enhances the export workflow with additional flexibility and usability improvements.

  • 📊 Project breakdown in overview (#90)
    A new popup next to the total working time in the overview now shows a detailed breakdown of tracked time per project.
  • 🏷️ Project metadata support (#86)
    You can now define custom metadata for each project.
    These metadata fields can also be included in exports.

  • 📄 Export preferences remembered
    The selected paper format and orientation are now saved and reused for future exports.
  • 🎨 Minor UI refinements for a cleaner and more consistent experience.
  • 🔒 Security and framework updates to keep TimeScribe up to date.

📦 v1.11.0 – Powerful Exports, Deep Links & New Language

This release significantly expands the export functionality, introduces a new deep-link API, and adds Danish language support — alongside various improvements and fixes.

    The export feature has been heavily enhanced and now includes:
    • Export as PDF
    • Selectable date range for exports
    • Filters for projects and work/break time
    • Customizable table columns (show/hide and reorder)
    • Dynamic file names based on selected filters and date range
  • 🔗 New deep-link API (#74)
    The timer can now be started and stopped via deep links using
    timescribe://... (see Deep-Link API)
  • 🇩🇰 Danish language support
    TimeScribe is now available in Danish.

    This behavior has now been corrected.

This patch release fixes a regression introduced in v1.10.0 that affected the day overview.


🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fix: In v1.10.0, the “Add Time” buttons were no longer visible in the day overview.
    This issue has now been resolved and the buttons are displayed correctly again.

📦 v1.10.0 – Better Overtime Insights & Timeline Improvements

This release brings powerful new tools to better understand and manage overtime, improves timeline interactions, and includes important stability fixes.

  • ⏸️ Create breaks via drag & drop:
    Breaks can now be added directly in the timeline by clicking and dragging. #53
  • 📊 Weekly overtime & balance view:
    A new view shows overtime and working time balance per week, making it easier to keep track of your accumulated hours. #68
  • 📅 Adjust work time balance at a reference date:
    The work time balance can now be set, increased, or decreased at a specific reference date. #68
  • 🧹 Merge consecutive entries:
    Consecutive work or break entries can now be merged to keep the daily overview clean and more readable.

  • 🎨 Minor UI refinements for a cleaner and more consistent experience.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fix: Work and break entries were not always displayed as consecutive when less than one minute passed between recordings.
  • Fix: Under certain conditions, the application could run into errors due to insufficient memory allocation for the process.

📦 v1.5.1 – Critical Fix for Editing Time Entries

This update primarily addresses a critical issue that prevented users from editing their time entries.
Alongside this fix, we've also improved performance and backup stability.


🐛 Critical Bug Fix

  • Fix: Editing time entries caused a 500 error #59 #60
    Users were unable to modify existing time entries due to a server-side error.
    This issue has now been fully resolved and editing works as expected again.

🛠 Improvements

  • Improved render performance: Scrolling is now smoother and more responsive.
  • 💾 More reliable backup restores: Backups are applied with higher stability and fewer edge-case failures.
