This depends on viamrobotics/api#874.
I'm opening this as a draft because claude wrote most of this. I plan to do a self-review here, then point claude at my comments, as an experiment in delivering feedback to claude.
Once I'm satisfied with its revisions above this base, I will push an update and promote this to a real PR.
